The never-ending Christmas season

As a commercial photographer, I often find myself shooting Christmas year-round. My retail clients keep me busy with Christmas shoots during the summer, while my wholesale clients have me shooting Christmas in December, but for the following year. I'm currently photographing Christmas for 2025 for a wholesale company. Despite this hectic schedule, I still manage to find the time and motivation to hang my stockings and decorate my tree. And thanks to online shopping, I somehow pull off my gift-giving. Sometimes though, it feels like I’m in a perpetual time warp—like the movie *Groundhog Day*, except every day feels like Christmas!

Executing a seasonal shoot requires a lot of collaboration. We have stylists who specialize in tree fluffing and decorating. Yes, you read that right! We also have production assistants and carpenters who build the sets and prop stylists who add the finishing touches to the environment, such as furniture, packages, candles, and a well-placed blanket. The art director oversees the photo shoot, making key decisions about props, lighting, camera angles, and more. It truly takes a team to bring our vision to life.

I feel fortunate to work with some of the best talent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While it can be hard work, especially with tight deadlines and the timing of product samples, we all enjoy what we do. Just like Santa, it takes a lot of elves to make it all happen! Many thanks to my teammates for helping pull off what we do!
